InSinkErator is an American company and brand name known for producing instant hot water dispensers and food waste disposal systems, generally called "garbage disposals" or "garbage disposers". It is owned by Emerson Electric.

Jay Lee angrily mentioned, "We purchased our InSinkerator Evolution Compact in June 2016. Thought it was great, and these reviews attest to the quiet, efficiently running unit. Unfortunately, we literally (Sept 21, 2018 at 1am) just found the disposal completely separated AND leaking all wastewater (anything draining down our kitchen sink) out of the bottom of the unit! How such a thing happens, we have no idea... We never put anything other than soft food scraps down our disposal, and it's only whatever is still stuck on a plate since we actually compost almost everything and scrape food off dishes prior to putting them in the sink. There is absolutely nothing that would have caused this from our end. The unit was running perfectly fine prior to tonight, so this just seems completely crazy to find the garbage disposal separated like this! WE SINCERELY HOPE THAT INSINKERATOR WILL COVER THEIR PRODUCT UNDER WARRANTY BUT ARE NOT OPTIMISTIC. WE WILL PROBABLY GO AHEAD AND BUY A REPLACEMENT DISPOSAL BECAUSE WE ARE UNABLE TO EVEN TURN ON OUR KITCHEN FAUCET OR RUN THE DISHWASHER WITHOUT WATER POURING OUT INTO OUR SINK CABINET! I try not to write in all caps but I am SO MAD that this happened. We also have a 1-week old baby, and obviously, not being able to wash dishes or use our sink is a HUGE INCONVENIENCE. I will come back and update this review if customer service does anything, but being that we don't want to sit around waiting for a month for them to address this (if they actually do address this), we will probably just go buy another disposal and install it ourselves. I'm sorry for being so upset and angry, but this was one of the purchases from our kitchen renovation that I thought was failproof / never gave it a second thought. I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE THE DISPOSAL WOULD JUST SPONTANEOUSLY BREAK LIKE THIS!!!!!"

"The company acts as a "good old boys club" only the people in "know" would be promoted regardless of their poor work ethic or lack of ability to do the job. As a result of this the entire management chain is largely full of incompetence while the hard working individual contributor is left frustrated. The management to individual contributor ratio is massive and causes tons of dysfunction as you can never get a clear answer on the work you're supposed to be doing. One manager will tell you one thing, then a director will tell you another, and then a VP a completely separate thing. As a result very little progress ever gets made at the company. No one gets held accountable for poor work, and there seems to be no benefit to working hard, the harder you work the more boundaries you run into. Optics at this company matter waaay more than how much work you actually contribute. It's an okay place to work if you're okay going in 40 hours a week and turning your brain off, otherwise stay away. As a male working there it also didn't appear that women were treated well, I had not heard any co-workers or managers ever say positive things about any female co-workers."

"If you're looking for a well-structured job where you'll enjoy coming into work every day, this is not the place, It's very disorganized and unbalanced. They’re run by seniority and do the whole bumping thing, so all the experienced people who’ve been around for a while make it to first shift and the off-shifts get stuck with all the poorly trained hand-me-downs. Managers and higher-ups all also work on first shift and communication is so bad, most of the time the off-shifts come in and have no clue as to what’s going on. Most of the supervisors are oblivious and undertrained, they just sit in the office all day because, well, there’s no managers around to say otherwise. So when stuff goes down they like to come out of the office and say “why’s this why’s that.” Supervisors will play favoritism and belittle those they don’t like, I don’t know who selects and trains these supervisors but they’re doing it all wrong. There’s no sick days or paid time off, so if you or your child gets sick and you have to leave, you’ll have to use vacation. Speaking of vacation, it’s not great, I’ve been here about 7 years and I have 15 days. Insurance is also pretty expensive and has a very high deductible rate. Besides a small annually raise, there’s no benefits or incentive to make you want to work hard. They continuously try to raise the rate each year while giving us very little in return, It's a very greedy company who doesn't try to hide it very well."

"Insurance is very expensive with very high deductibles. No paid sick time, 1 week vacation after 1 year for production employees and 2 weeks after 1 year for employees who are not production or salary such as quality, maintance , lab workers for 10 years then 3 weeks. Does not match on 401k but you can get profit sharing after 1 year that goes into a retirement account. lack of communication and supervisors and leads all seem that they don't know answers to anyones questions or concerns. HR seems to have a million employees but you need to ask 50 different people in HR to get 1 answer. Worked over half the weekends in 2017 and was all mandatory. Seems like they have a work first and all the time and not understanding in regards to family time. If your child gets sick and you need to leave its a hit on your attendance after 7 points you are shown the door. You get sick that's a hit on your attendance, you get sick at work and leave after 4 hours still a full hit to attendance. 2017 had a few mandatory Sundays as well. They don't address an issue until someone is hurt or production/orders fall way behind. Big turn over rate. Supervisors have belittled employees to them and behind back. Plays big on favoritism. Unless you are in dire need of employment don't go out of your way unless you have a bachelors and a salary employee."

"I worked at Emerson for about 3 years. My direct manager ( VP level) was a terrible and unpredictable person. He did a lot of verbal and psychological harassment on me and he didn’t respect the people and specially me and a few other new hires. There were a lot of politics in the company and it seems that it is a routine in the company ( at least in Sidney location) that they verbally harass people in the meetings and make some employees uncomfortable. The don’t care about the real work that much and they only care about who knows who and who has a relationship with who. Executive and VP level Management team is very weak and confused and they don’t have any vision for the future. They don’t have enough technical experience in their past works to be able to communicate effectively with their technical and engineering team. They don’t let people to talk in the meetings and just want to have monologue and impose their authority. The environment is like army and military services!Also the diversity is not appreciated at all in the company and many International employee including myself are being hurt verbally and by their inappropriate attitude. Also very weak communication between management and the direct reports and you usually need to guess what to do and what not to do and eventually bring blamed with your actions.There are some good colleagues in the company who are usually in the technical level, not in the managerial level and many of them didn’t have any chance to grow internally or being demoted. "A lot of really good people work their but management is far less than acceptable. The honeymoon period of getting hired is short lived then the reality of poor management sets in. All talk and tenured protectionism makes personal growth a check box review. The abuse for the AP clerks is beyond any I’ve ever experienced in my 20 years as an AP clerk, and the worst part is that the manager could careless about the clerks, I literally walked out because I couldn’t take the abuse anymore!!! The supervisors have no idea how to machine so when review or advancement comes alpong they look at you like deer in headlights they ask questions they know the answers to. "Culture does not facilitate new product engineering. If it requires engineering work, it will be sub contracted out or out-sourced. If there is an investment to be made in a new product infrastructure for engineering, this is not the place for you. Run if you want to develop anything that is new. "Since replacing the cartridge the Inksinkerator hot tap stopped being hot!?! Not even luke warm. After thee years. Unfortunately I couldn't get anyone to fix it-Either from Inksinkerator, KAL (the distributor) or Inhouse-Where I had originally purchased it from Albeit out of warranty I was trying to contact who would sort it but noone could help -Paid or otherwise."

"Placed an order a week ago. Nothing delivered despite promising 3 working days on website. Trying to call their customers service line (the one ending 880), the line is permanently unanswered for any ''existing orders'', like permanently. Went into other line (think technical advice) twice, spoke to 2 different person, neither can tell me what is happening with my order and neither seems to have access to order database as both were asking me order number as well as ALL the other details. Then i got told they will forward the information to their headoffice for further information. WHO THE HECK these days need to contact ''head office'' for order information? ha ha ha What a joke of company management."

"I tried to register my hot water tap and could not find it on their drop down list on website so tried to contact them and after 2 attempts via a multi option swtchboard had to resort to leaving a voice message. I have still not had any reply, 2dsys later. I could however place an order for 2 filters for my installation, online. Obviously their sales site is more amenable.... Not surprising. I doubt I will try again... Bad news Insinkerator....hope I don't have need to contact you for warranty claim!!!!"

"I installed a new hot and cold tap with boiler and filter about 8 years ago. I had ab HC1100 model installed with our new kitchen. Since this time we are now on the 3rd replacement boiler, not cheap and now the tap itself is not dispensing hot water, seems blocked. We do live in a hard water atea and were told to install the filter and change the bottles as required by the instructions. Also not cheap to replace. The hot / boiling tap now does not work. A new tap is between £320 and £512 to buy. My opinion don’t waste your money - with my outlay over 8 years a brita filter jug and good energy effective kettles from the start would mean that I would still be well inside what I have actually spent over the 8 years. The unit is now switched off and is a kitchen countertop decoration."
